In advance of its upcoming Upfront Presentation, CTV announced today its latest pick-up for the 2013/2014 broadcast season with a second season order of its original drama series MOTIVE (@MotiveTV). The #1 new Canadian series of the year, CTV has ordered an additional 13 episodes for the series’ second season from Vancouver-based Foundation Features and Lark Productions. Production is set to begin this summer. The announcement comes with just one episode remaining before MOTIVE’s first-season finale next Thursday, May 16 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV Mobile.

CTV announced today the premiere of  THE DARK CORNER, an original digital series spun-off from its hit Canadian drama MOTIVE. Ordered exclusively for CTV’s digital platforms, including CTV.ca/MotiveCTV App, and CTV Mobile, THE DARK CORNER will premiere in its entirety together with this week’s episode of MOTIVE on Thursday, March 28. The new digital drama takes viewers through both past and present timelines in the same gripping format as its television companion. For the first time, all eight episodes will debut simultaneously, allowing viewers to watch the entire series immediately.

It was another “amazing” night for CTV, as Sunday’s blockbuster primetime lineup brought in another first place finish. Canada’s #1 reality program ran away with the night as 2.3 million viewers tuned in to the season premiere of THE AMAZING RACE, winning the night with total viewers and all key demos. With the Top 4 programs of the night, CTV won every hour in primetime from 7-11 p.m.
