Bell Media Agency Named Worldwide Marketing Team of the Year at the 2013 PromaxBDA Awards; Wins 46 Medals


For the first time ever, the Bell Media Agency has been recognized with the prestigious Global Excellence Award for Marketing Team of the Year, given to the company with the highest number of Global Excellence Awards. The honour was bestowed at the 2013 PromaxBDA Awards held last Thursday in Los Angeles. Recognizing achievement in marketing, promotion and design, Bell Media was also once again the leading Canadian media group at PromaxBDA. With an impressive 20 Global Excellence and 26 North American medals, Bell Media took home a total of 46 wins this year, in addition to the special team recognition.

“King of the High Wire” Nik Wallenda Reigned Supreme on Sunday Night, Reaching 2.4 Million Canadian Viewers


Last night, Canadian viewers were hanging by a wire, spellbound, as tightrope legend Nik Wallenda conquered his latest high wire challenge: traversing the Grand Canyon – without a harness or tether! Discovery captured every nerve-wracking step of the 380-metre crossing, LIVE and uninterrupted, and Canadians were at the edge of their seat. Nearly 2.4 million viewers tuned in to SKYWIRE LIVE WITH NIK WALLENDA, at some point during the special live event, peaking at more than 1.5 million at 10 p.m. ET during the final moments when Wallenda ran the last few steps on the wire, jumped down, and kissed the ground. With an audience of 729,000 viewers, this landmark broadcast is the highest-rated special in Discovery Canada’s history. Between 8 p.m.-10:20 p.m. ET, Discovery was the #1 network in Canada, for the key A18-49 and A25-54 demos; and during the second hour – which included the heart-stopping wire walk itself – Discovery was the #1 network for total viewers.*
