Premieres and Finales for the Week of July 14th – 20th, 2013


Highlights of this week’s premieres and finales are; the premiere of CTV’s THE AMAZING RACE CANADA (PICTURED), the finale of A&E’s INTERVENTION, the premiere of HBO Canada’s THE NEWSROOM and the premiere of The CW’s WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY. Sunday
8 – 9 pm – LESS THAN KIND – Finale – HBO Canada - The Blechers struggle to keep the family business running.
10 – 11:05 pm – THE NEWSROOM – Premiere – HBO Canada - Will and the staff are questioned by a lawyer; an on-air remark gets Will pulled from Sept. 11 anniversary coverage; Jim volunteers to cover for a reporter on the Romney campaign; Neal investigates the beginnings of Occupy Wall Street.
10 – 11 pm – WAREHOUSE 13 – Finale – Showcase - The evil alchemist Paracelsus is on the run, and Pete and Myka must stop him before he achieves immortality; Myka fights what appears to be a losing battle against cancer.

Monday
7 – 8 pm – THE NEXT STAR – Premiere – YTV - Auditions begin in Calgary and Vancouver.
9 – 10 pm – THE AMAZING RACE CANADA (PICTURED) – Premiere – CTV - CTV presents its version of the hit international series, “The Amazing Race Canada.” Olympic gold-medalist Jon Montgomery hosts the race of a lifetime throughout the country. Nine teams of pairs get the opportunity to discover the world within the country’s borders. In Canada’s divergent topography and broad landscapes and cultures, the teams will be challenged both mentally and physically throughout their journey. The team to make it to the finish line will win the largest prize in Canadian reality-show history, including a cash prize, a pair of brand new cars and air travel for a year. “The Amazing Race Canada” offers viewers a rare glimpse of the nation’s beauty and diversity.
9 – 11 pm – CAT. 8 – Premiere – Space - An advanced security system can harness the power of the sun and destroy Earth.

Tuesday
8 – 8:30 pm – WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY? – Premiere – The CW - The cast tackles a series of improv games; guests include comic Gary Anthony Williams and actress Lauren Cohan.
9 – 10 pm – JOE ROGAN QUESTIONS EVERYTHING – Premiere – Space - Unexplained paranormal enthusiast Joe Rogan searches for answers to life’s most startling theories.
9 – 9:30 pm – PERFECT SCORE – Premiere – The CW - Roommates who share a love of men in tights compete for date.
10 – 11 pm – GIULIANA & BILL – Premiere – E! Canada - Giuliana and Bill make a home video for Duke to share the history of their family.
10 – 11 pm – KILLER CONTACT – Premiere – Space - Jack the Ripper.

Wednesday
10 – 10:15 am – BOOKABOO – Premiere – CBC - Bookaboo, the famous rock puppy, is joined by celebrities to read books.
9 – 10 pm – EXIT – Finale – Space - Four teams enter a series of trap-filled rooms, each one more difficult to escape than the last; one team is eliminated inside each room until the last room, where the final remaining team will play for a chance at $10,000.
9 – 10 pm – SWAMP PEOPLE – Finale – History Canada - Cameras capture the action in the Atchafalaya Basin during alligator-hunting season.
10 – 10:30 pm – BOUNTY HUNTERS – Premiere – Comedy - Jeff, Bill and Larry care for a baby as they chase a fugitive through Skeeter Swamp.
10 – 11 pm – SUITS – Premiere – Bravo Canada - Jessica’s new partnership is tested; Harvey must prove a high-profile client’s innocence; Mike tries to manage the fallout from his revelation.
10 – 11 pm – WEDDING ISLAND – Premiere – TLC - Sandy Malone is the only wedding planner on the remote island of Vieques.
10:30 – 11 pm – SIT DOWN, SHUT UP – Premiere – Comedy - Financial difficulties threatening Knob Haven High School could result in the firing of a faculty member unless the football team can win the upcoming game and draw alumni donations.

Thursday
9 – 10 pm – INTERVENTION – Finale – A&E - A father blames himself for the state of his son, a junkie who hustles and steals to earn enough money for his next fix.
9 – 10 pm – LUTHER – Premiere – BBC Canada - Luther is a brilliant but emotionally impulsive detective who is tormented by the dark side of humanity while hunting down murderers. Once the self-destructive detective knows the killer’s identity, it becomes a psychological duel between predator and prey.

Friday
9 – 10 pm – SUMMER CAMP – Premiere – Slice - Two camps mingle at a social; a canoeing Color War on the lake; two campers are sent away.
9:35 – 10 pm – LIV & MADDIE – Premiere – Family Channel - Liv and Maddie Rooney are identical twins who have been leading different lives for the last few years. Maddie is a high school basketball phenom in Wisconsin who prefers high tops to high heels. Cool, confident social butterfly Liv has been in Hollywood for the past four years starring on a hit TV show. When Liv returns home and the girls share a bedroom, Maddie quickly realizes that it’s not easy sharing a small space with a sister who has become accustomed to being in the spotlight, for Liv inserts herself into situations when she thinks Maddie needs help. Despite their antithetical personalities and aspirations — but with an unbreakable bond — they are able to accomplish pretty much anything they try.

Saturday
10:30 – 11 am – MONSTERS VS. ALIENS – Premiere - YTV - An alien imprisons the President and makes a permanent home in Area Fifty-Something.
12 – 1 pm – FLIPPING SAN DIEGO –  Premiere – A&E - An aging house in Allied Gardens needs a full makeover.
